At first when this video popped up, talking about joining in to Educate and Diversify the Wall St movement, I was thinking, "FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!" because a few progressive fellow Black artists were saying "Why don't these sections ever think about occupying the HOOD?" And then I read that they are looking to educate BLACK FOLKS about the need to focus on Wall St. So in my book, they have a jumped into half of the conundrum. I hope I can make a stab, by working with this teeny new grouping, to take on the other half: making a clear message about the relationship between the daily, historical oppression of people of color, and the whole System, a message that will educate the Occupy Wall St movement itself,. They have things to learn from us -- and us fom them.
